About CodeWarriors
CodeWarriors is an Australian education initiative focused on helping young people learn real software development skills through hands-on coding and game development.
We work with upper-primary and secondary students through a small number of carefully designed programs — including school holiday code camps and term-based programs delivered in partnership with schools.
Our focus is on depth, understanding, and creativity, rather than quick wins or surface-level exposure.
Our approach#
- Real programming languages (Python, Godot, web technologies)
- Project-based learning
- Small groups
- Collaboration and pair programming
- Clear boundaries around safety, supervision, and age-appropriateness
Game development is a core teaching tool, not because it’s flashy, but because it naturally integrates logic, design, iteration, and problem-solving, while remaining engaging and accessible for students.
Programs are designed for students who are curious about how software works and willing to engage thoughtfully with guided projects.
Why CodeWarriors exists#
As software tools — including AI-assisted coding — become more accessible, it’s increasingly important that young learners develop genuine understanding, not just the ability to produce output.
CodeWarriors was founded to help students build those foundations: curiosity, reasoning, and confidence with real code — before shortcuts replace learning.
Our programs#
- CodeWarriors Code Camps — school holiday programs
- CodeWarriors Game Foundry — term-based, small-group programs (after-school and future formats)
- Game Jams — time-bound collaborative game build events
- (Future) Level One — in-school incursions
